The impracticality of travelling and home-based tutors

With the cost of living rising all time high and fuels rising with nearly 50% on cost. It is impractical to insits that tutors use their fees to pay transport to tutor your child physically without fee increment

We know we are facing a political war between Russia and Ukraine. Imports and exports have become expensive, and with the Reserve Bank increasing the prime lending rate to a percentage of 7.5%, and with expectations that it will go higher as long as we are facing the current inflation induced by the war and the failing economies to manage their borrowings, and also the Covid-19 causing economic havoc by causing a lot of countries to declare their SME's (Small-Medium Enterprises) bankrupt, because they could not manage the debts and closure of business due to the lockdown. A lot of people lost their jobs due to Covid-19 and also due to the current corruption and looting of public funds by the current government.

Complacent South Africans are just taking the financial and economic blows by remaining silent, and some have occasional outbursts and rational analysis of the current governance on Twitter. Whilst the media is trying to expose the corrupt government, there is a bait cast in the form of espionage and political factionalism brewing within the political realm. The current President is accused of money laundering and embezzlement. There is no sleep for the troubles of South Africans.

"Practical means to request Home-based tutors is a physical disability, but if students is able to navigate online and ITC devices then Online tutors are the best option"

With the cost of living rising all time high and fuels rising with nearly 50% on cost. It is impractical to insits that tutors use their fees to pay transport to tutor your child physically without fee increment or covering the cost of travelling. There is that the current tutors' fees are exorbitant yet parents pay more than R50 000 in school fees so that their child could learn the very same CAPS curriculum provided by the government for free (the irrational status quo).

We are prone to rationalise the irrational and irrationalise the rational. We do not try to connect what is current and how to act or adapt. An issue that seems to hold back South Africans is the inability to move away from their past. The facts are that we are in a sovereign state with laws, that we have a failing state, that we have less enticing prospects for the graduating youth, and that many are learning without a guarantee that their education will rid them of their poverty. Furthermore, the fact that technology and the internet are here to stay and evolve our industries, and insisting on students to apply for degrees that do not have an existing job market. We cannot think that bookkeeping is imperative amidst software and online exchange of money — also with our education system that is not moving to the practicality of our world innovations — we have failed many of our young students. With constant research and the creation of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is embedded within computer chips and the worldwide web.

Though we live in ignorance and denial we cannot ignore these real facts. Insisting on remaining the same even amidst financial struggles is being oblivious to the facts Tutors aren't allowed to charge more or even their worth — the reality of how our education lacks in terms of value and nobility, yet travelling and home visits are a must and a basic requirement by parents. Generally, it is expected that time wasted on travelling and also the financial cost that comes with parents' requests should be borne by tutors or educational consultants.

We live within our own denial and yet fail to see others' struggles. If options are available for both parties to receive the long end of the stick, then they should be utilised. We should always value what people bring to the table. If it is talent, skills, expertise or all of the above, then it would be beneficial to be more human, more rational and more current and more aware of how each and one of us is affected by the current financial and economic turmoil.

Let's use what we have, let us be flexible, let us use technology to ease the financial burden, and then for sure, the cost will not be exorbitant, and young students will also sand surely attain skills to prepare them for the hybrid workplace or technological jobs waiting for them.

Book online tutors, to ease travelling cost for either or both parties. Learning is not determinie by mode of deliverance but the person who is delivering the content
