Since the Covid pandemic, the whole of South Africa got an introduction to alternative modes of teaching and learning With the new wave of online learning, this appeasing and new option has become the most flexible solution for some learners.

It is evident that the formal schooling system is not for every child. The more we accept our difference the more we will be less inclined to sell the idea that students and learners are the same and they deserve the same approach to learning.
Though parents are still against online learning, more parents are increasingly becoming open to online homeschooling. CambriLearn is an online homeschooling company affiliated with The N.E.R.D.Y Tutor, and they define homeschooling as, "a child learning in a home environment. This typically places the responsibility on the parent or guardian. In this case, the parent is considered the teacher and is responsible for meeting all legal education requirements. If a parent or guardian chooses to homeschool without the use of an online schooling platform, then they are in charge of designing lessons, keeping track of the student’s progress"
Parents have an option to oversee their child's progress, however, the online school offers support and facilitation for the exclusive use of the student, similar to how The N.E.R.D.Y Tutor offers such support services to students signed with CambriLearn.
Homeschooling provides a flexible learning approach however students may lack motivation and that is when facilitation becomes important and as means to keep the student on track. Parents should also note that a student is stuck at home — learning, and it is imperative to adopt a balancing approach to their lifestyle.
A balancing approach allows the student to be schooled online but also maintains a more physical approach to their extracurricular activities. Signing up the student for location-based guitar lessons, karate lessons, singing lessons, etc is a great idea to ensure that there is a balance in the social lifestyle of the student. The human connection replaces the online interaction that lacks a human touch. However, everything is about perception and adaptation, how well a student adapts to online learning the better, and if it becomes a struggle it will be imperative to deal separately with external, or in most often cases, internal issues impeding their learning or ability to learn.
Some students choose online homeschooling due to various reasons: some students are immigrating, others have been bullied or ostracised in a formal schooling environment, some have social anxiety, some lack physical mobility, others have learning impediments, some are battling learning disorders, some are excluded from the formal schooling system because of lack of access and understanding of their condition. There are many reasons why students will choose this flexible and individually paced learning programme.
It is evident that the formal schooling system is not for every child. The more we accept our difference the more we will be less inclined to sell the idea that students and learners are the same and they deserve the same approach to learning. This is the very idea that The N.E.R.D.Y Tutor repudiate, and we do not interrelate it into our tutoring methodology and service approach.
